Heart Recipients Celebrate Life

WAVY TV -- A Virginia Beach college student and a Norfolk Army wife are great friends, who will spend this Valentine's weekend with gratitude for the real hearts someone else gave them. Princess Daughtry and Kershundra Clinton met in 2003 when both were living in different chapters of life-threatening stories. Clinton remembered, "I said you must be Princess and she said, 'Yes, in the flesh.' And it just made me laugh which is something I needed right then and there. Because I had just turned 23...and you're told you need a transplant." Just a few months before Clinton learned she needed a new heart, Daughtry received one. After childhood illness, congestive heart failure, and several surgeries, Daughtry's time was running out.
